Modern Day Maccabees
Six young Russian-born students at Boys Town Jerusalem were "redeemed" in a moving Pidyon HaBen ceremony held at the school shortly before Chanukah. The age-old, symbolic redemption of a first-born son, which usually takes place when a child is one month old may be carried out from age 13 by an individual who was not redeemed as a baby. Israel Under Fire

Taking a Respite from the War
At the height of the recent war in Lebanon, hundreds of children and their families fled deadly Katyusha rocket attacks on their homes throughout the north to take refuge in Jerusalem. IDF Seminar For Chaplains

Poverty in Israel at Record High
In a daunting logistic operation, over 45 tons of fresh produce and packaged food products were brought to the Boys Town Jerusalem campus to be packaged for delivery to 2,500 needy families for Rosh Hashanah.
